CPL 2.0- Week 6 Google and its products
In Google's 'even more' products, I discovered Google's blog search. This product was of interest to me after the blog assignment. With blog search, I was able to select a topic (prairie gardening) and a variety of blogs from the Canadian prairies and the US were available to read. One in particular was of real interest and I may continue to follow it.
I did like the speed of the product and its ability to take me to blogs that I wouldn't have otherwise found. Some of them were very useful and had great information. I would recommend this product to others.
In the future, I look forward to exploring more of Google's products!

CPL 2.0- Week 5
Why do people use social networks?
Because people spend so much time on computers now, I think people use social networks to keep in touch. I don't imagine that many send photos and letters through the mail anymore-- although, I still do!
The assignment was good-- I learned that facebook is free, it is easy to set up an account and that I could track down long-lost friends.

CPL 2.0- Week 4:
Wikipedia
After perusing Wikipedia, I settled on editing information on a post-secondary institution with which I am very familiar. There were errors in the faculty currently working there-- some faculty who had left 2 years ago were still listed, while new faculty members were omitted. I chose to edit the liberal studies faculty page and it was surprisingly easy.
I did not realize before this assignment how easy it is to edit articles in Wikipedia, or to create articles. With this new knowledge, I will be tentative in my dealings with Wikipedia and possibly steer customers to our E-Library and the World Book or OED for information which is factual.
Thank you for this great assignment-- another valuable learning experience!

CPL 2.0- Week 3
After viewing 'delicious' and my colleagues blogs regarding it, I have thought about the questions for this week.
The advantages of storing web content in this way is largely convenience. Using 'delicious' will reduce time spent searching through google and steer myself and customers in the right direction.
One disadvantage of the CPL delicious site is sifting through the visual quagmire to find something specific. Being a visual person and a visual learner, I found the site had little definition in color, font, and was overloaded with text. It was not easy for me to read.
I look forward to next week's assignment!
